Howdy Muddy Buddies!
Not a lot has happened in the last few days, I took it easy over the weekend, with just a little parkour training and some light (short less than 2 miles) runs…
Monday was one of those days that just wouldn’t let me get to the gym, but I did manage to get to the gym parking lot to meetup with the Alamo Running Buddies for their 4-6 mile run on in Converse on Monday nights. They were a well rounded, enthusiastic and supportive group. The course was challenging for me, as I haven’t often been running pavement as the last few months, and I missed a turn-off. I wound up only doing 4.84 miles of the 6 mile route… and I did it VERY SLOWLY, even though I felt like I was pushing it…I now KNOW I am going to need to start running pavement more often before I do the San Antonio Rock & Roll Marathon in November…
Tomorrow is the San Antonio Road Runner’s Independence Day Four Miler. Since I will have the Thing’s Three (Mrs MuddyJ has to work) I cannot run in the event, but I have volunteered myself and the Thing’s Three to offer aid… I figure that should be the next best thing to actually running in an event, and I still get a t-shirt!
I have been slacking this week, enjoying too many of the “forbidden foods” and generally being lazy. I am certain that when I get back to it, I will be sorry with myself for taking a few days off, but I guess I need to recharge the “slacker batteries” too
I will, of course, post a review of my experience tomorrow @ my first SARR event!
Have a great night, and Stay Muddy!
