Ender’s Game, written by Orson Scott Card, has been my all time favorite book of all time since I first read it almost 20 years ago…seriously, I re-read it 2-3 times per year, as well as listen to the audio book a few times per year while running long distances. A close second favorite book of mine: Ender’s Shadow.

Ender’s Shadow, is essentially the exact same time-line, with many of the same events, but written from the perspective of a completely different individual (Bean)and thus it tells a seperate but parallel story, taking the reader back to familiar places in an unmfamiliar way…I was skeptical the first time I picked Ender’s Shadow up, but in the end I was amazed by how the same experience could be told so differently from two points of view.

Recently I posted a short tale of my epic adventure at the recent Texas Spartan Beast, and I spoke at length about doing it with a companion, my indomitable-spirited rose-haired friend and training pal, Red. She was so moved by her experience, that she decided to finally start writing and has published her first race report. Let your skepticism be defeated, you wont be reading the same report…

…and finally:

HAPPY NEW YEAR! MAY 2014 BRING YOU ALL THE MUD AND GLORY YOU DESIRE!
